This place is amazing. All other emergency vet waits were 4.5-5 hours long. Companion got us in an operatory very quickly. My dog had bloody diarrhea and was throwing up yellow bile, and I was terrified. Their operatories are comfortable and pet/owner friendly. They triage, so your wait depends on severity of each case, which is completely understandable. They were kind to me and amazing with my dog who has been abused and is typically very skittish. You could tell she felt comfortable with the staff, and that's a rarity. The staff there is all wonderfully educated, kind, compassionate, and caring. You can tell that they really love what they do. Lily received excellent care- the vet sat down in the chair across from me and spoke to me one on one about my dog's condition and treatment plan. It didn't feel rushed. She spent time with us to make sure we understood everything we needed to know. Prices were as I expected for a veterinary office, but they also offer 3rd party payment plans with 0% interest if you qualify. You will know what the fees will be prior to them completing any services, so you have the opportunity to accept or decline any of the suggested treatment (although I went forward with everything). I did not feel like they were trying to upsell or give my dog anything that she didn't actually need. I will be leaving my vets office and establishing Lily here, as they also offer general veterinary services. I was beyond impressed with our experience here. As an emergency patient, we spent about 3 hours total there, but I wouldn't change anything about our experience. I know they were providing excellent care to animals who needed their attention in a more timely manner than mine. They have very flexible hours in order to accommodate emergencies. I will be recommending this veterinary office to all my friends and family with fur babies. Thank you all for a phenomenal experience in our time of need.

I highly recommend this clinic. My french bulldog required urgent care on a Sunday and I was able to get him in upon arrival. Each employee I came into contact with was wonderful. They helped calm my nerves, asked lots of questions & evaluated my dog very thoroughly, and then explained how we should proceed. Turned out, my dog had pneumonia. The staff took extra time to explain the medicines I was sent home with, how to care for him, warning signs to watch out for, and worked with me to locate a specific piece of medical equipment he required (which was sold out everywhere in town but they pulled a few strings and got it for me). They even called me the next day to see how my dog was doing and had us come in at no charge to teach me how to use the equipment (nebulizer). I took my dog in for a follow-up two weeks later and received the same level of service, and will go back again in another two weeks. These follow-ups could easily be done at my regular vet but I feel we've now formed a great relationship.

Much better services around Bradenton. Don't settle just because they are open later.

Update I have been seen faster in a human emergency care and Quinn got seen at a much better facility within 5 minutes of us arriving. Was taken back and not a single person had an attitude and gave us updates on times very quickly and let us know what was happening. But good try. I agree with everyone else that has left a review recently. The receptionist had a terrible attitude from the second we came in. She gave no information no timeline nothing. Then when I asked her for one 30 minutes later she gave us a bigger attitude. You chose to do this for a job if you can't have a a better attitude in front of people maybe it's time for a change. I will never recommend this place to anyone ever. We got a refund and left.

Companion Veterinary and Urgent Care Center | Jan 28, 2022

The wait time varies, and we encourage people to call us to check on wait times when they want to come in. However, this does not mean that you can put your name on a list. You and your furry friend have to be present at the clinic so that we can see your pet as soon as we are available to do so. Due to the dynamic nature of our practice, things can change rapidly and a long wait time may become significantly shorter, or vice versa.
