If you want to learn to dance, as a true beginner or as someone with years of experience, Santo Rico is the absolute best place. Owner/Director Tomás Guerrero is a legend and a gift to the art of salsa. He is one of the great salseros of our lifetime, but the thing that makes him such a rare gem is that he’s also an incredible teacher—a true master at both crafts with decades of experience. When I first got to Santo Rico several months ago, I started in basic beginners. I’d taken a long break from the dance floor, and I wanted to soak up everything that they had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised to find that Tomás himself was teaching the beginners class. He teaches most of the classes, and it’s obvious how much he absolutely loves teaching and his students. Tomás is brilliant. He’s charismatic, humble, and fun, and he has such a gift at breaking down body movement and musicality (how to move to accentuate the music). He takes a genuine interest in his students both on and off the dance floor. He pushes us to grow, and he does it with kindness and grace. He is so supportive and encouraging that I actually forget to be intimidated by him. Thanks to him and the other instructors at Santo Rico, I’ve improved a ton in a very short amount of time—my spinning, body movement, confidence, shines, and my understanding of the lead, music, and body mechanics. The entire studio is a mix of warmth and excellence, from Lorenza at the front desk to the other instructors to all the students. I’ve also had the pleasure of taking class with Luc, Shoranda, and Danny, and they are all absolutely amazing. And I’ve made wonderful new friends here. It’s such a beautiful culture of positivity, growth, and fun. By now you’re probably thinking that I’m getting paid for writing this review LOL but I swear I’m not getting a dime. I’m just incredibly grateful and happy! 💗 So as I was saying, if you’re in Central FL and you want to learn or improve your salsa, you are seriously cheating yourself if you don’t come here. 💗 See you on the dance floor.

Worth every second of the two hour commute each way. If I lived in Orlando, I would live in the Santo Rico studio too. :)
