Always like the mining. The tents are always different. From New, used, antique, and hand made. I picked up a hand crank gas pump one time. They have jewelry, collectables, cards, lamps, plants, clothes, farm stuff, tools and much more.. but always something to see different.

We visited the Gemstone Mining with Eddy Hughes at the River City Flea Market, for my son's birthday party. My son is very into geology and archeology. Eddy Hughes was very kind, very thoughtful, and very mellow, which was terrific for a kids event. There were many beautiful stones and jewelry pieces on display as well as a some incredible fossils. For our party, each child recieved a bag of mixed gemstones that they processed at the outdoor sluice. The birthday boy also recieved a special bag with seashells, a favorite of his. After they did their mine bags, they went indoors and identified their stones, then they learned and practiced a stone polishing technique. There was an area we were able to use for presents and cupcakes. Mr. Eddy Hughes gifted me, the birthday mom, with a very beautiful gemstone necklace which was very kind and thoughtful. I highly recommend visiting, particularly the gemstone mine. Mr. Hughes works hard to give you variety, and to give you an event value for your dollar. We plan on visiting again.
