Charged $800+ for an ultrasound...as a copay after our PPO gold insurance plan paid. no mention of the cost before. long wait too. Second bad experience is that the billing department is horrible and disorganized. for a different visit, we sent the payment in, and then they keep calling for payment. then we cleared things up and they found the payment...and then they still called again for payment! do not use unless you are dying and would die before getting to any other hospital.

Ski accident at Shawnee and I was very nervous about my first emergency room experience. But the staff were wonderful, professional and empathetic. I am very thankful for the care they provided me in a scary situation. They don’t get enough thanks for what they do. Thank you Bridgton Hospital staff!!

In years past I had ok experiences here, though the running joke in town is, if it's E.D. plan for at least 3 hours even if it's empty. The last few years have been sub-par to say the least. This excludes the lab. I have always had great experiences with the phlabotomists. Front desk has had it's troubles through the years. Recently went to the E.D. with a child who had a fractured fibula. We were told by the Dr "there was no obvious break" and a tech put a splint on with her ankle turned in and pointed, rather than a 45 degree.

We had to take a trip to the ER, yesterday. My husband had to drive himself, so I contacted the front desk and they knew why he was coming. We thought his appendix.
