Every single day at least 3 vehicles worth of these guys just sit in the back of Lincoln Park (by the dog run parkinglot) for hours on end, looking at their phones, often observing bushes rather than the public spaces, and when there’s an issue happening and you approach them they say “that’s not why we’re here”… they literally will sit there and witness something happening, acknowledge it to you, and do absolutely nothing… no serve and protect, just be dimwitted and subservient. Their budget is obviously way too high and i’m not sure if this is just symbolic having a sheriff’s office, but honestly it seems like a huge joke. Like I get having one vehicle there, it spread them out between the area at least… Some advice, as someone who owns several business and manages dozens of people, keep them moving through the streets and having some opportunity to do their job; which is to serve in whatever capacity they can. Having people sitting there refusing to do anything is an extremely inappropriate use of funds and i’m sure a huge insult to the members who are functional contributors. If I brought this to the attention of my publicist the woman would feed this to the press like steaks. Please clean up your act.

On Friday November 5th as a truck driver I was doing my route in Hoboken Jersey city and Union city. Around noon I've stopped on Central Ave and Hw 139 to grab a cup of coffee at 7/11 and lock myself out of the truck living everything in the cab. For the assistance I asked officer conducting security detail at construction site across Hw 139. Without a second thought He start helping me, called towing company and came over to my truck making sure that everything is OK. 45 minutes later I was back in my truck continuing my route. Sorry I didn't get officer's name it was covered by yellow vest but He was driving patrol SUV # 78 that day. Thank you officer #78 for your courtesy and professionalism.

Very rude and scary experience. Was on a date with my wife in park in evening in car. Many couples were after work. Cop car flies in on us with lights on screams get out of the park. We are older and the gates were not locked and no signs said hours and couldn't find hours online. Was very peaceful prior and couples were enjoying the night by the water. Very scary how officer was acting caused fear and anxiety, and actually feared for our lives. I was afraid to get out of the car that's how scary it was.
