Dogs are not allowed inside the park boundaries.
There are dogs there, however, because the park is on a beach. It's a little confusing.
A) no one can own a beach below the high water mark. Therefore, anyone can walk with their dog on the part of the beach that is adjacent to the park but below the high water mark.
B) the parts of the beach that are not designated as being in the park are simply Ft Myers Beach, where dogs are welcome (on leash)
C) you cannot (legally) park your vehicle in the park parking lot and walk with your dog through the park to get to the part of the beach that is not designated as the park.
We walked on the trail for maybe 7 minutes to the beach from the parking lot. It seems less than a mile. We took the trail off the parking lot where you first pull in to park.
Its bad i went yesterday dead fish everywhere it smelled bad. The air caused burning in my throat and my wife's we coughed the whole time we were there.
