My son is with Sanford Water, and this is the issue I have with this water company. Unlike other water companies that give you a month, this company gives you a few days before they shut off your water. His bill went from $35.00 to $55.00. The guy turned my son back on last night and was charged a $25.00 reconnect fee after hours. I helped pay his bill for the $55.00 to get the water turned back on. He called this morning to find out why he is showing two different days for the payment to be made. They gave him the runaround and said if the $25.00 were not paid today, he would be shut off again today and would have another $25.00 fee to have it reconnected again. My son explained that he gets paid tomorrow and asked if he could pay it tomorrow. The woman he spoke with asked management, and they told him that he would be shut off if the $25.00 was not paid by 8 am tomorrow morning. The woman he spoke with sounded to have no compassion over the issues my son brought to her attention and tried to rush him off the phone. It is this simple. This company has gotten worse over the years and seems to get worse as time progresses. There are high gas prices, food prices, and just about every damn thing is high these days, and the water company, does not care about their customers. They only care about making their lives even more miserable than they already are, thanks to rising inflation. Thanks a lot, Sanford N.C. Water Company, for not caring about your customers and for being the only company that does not give a grace period to your customers on being late paying their bills like other companies which give you up to a month.

Your bill is $35 and you forget to pay it, it the late "fees" are $25. Another SUPER ethical business this one leaching off the human basic need for water. At least the power company gives you a month to be late and fix your mistake and/or money issue. Water always tastes like dirt, why don't you take my $25 and the other ridiculous "fees" you charge to properly clean your dirt water.
