Took the north bound trails to the leanto. These appear less travelled than the south trails. Very pleasant, good for dogs, a little soggy this season.

Great trail, well marked. Muddy in some spots from the rain. Very peaceful with the stream running

i was going to do a different trail but it was closed and this was the next closest to me on my alltrails app that i haven't done. i got to admit i was pleasantly surprised with how nice this little trail was. i guess there is a small falls …

I’m always looking for new trails to hike and I am never impressed. But I have to say this was a gorgeous little hike through the woods. It feels like you are deeply immersed in the wilderness. There are a couple different trails and paths to choose from (one seeming to be across the road and the other one right near the parking area). We choose the red marked trail near parking. A couple things that we noted is that the red trail just awkwardly seems to end down by the stream. And it almost seems like the trail continues past the stream, but nothing is marked and the trail becomes unkempt. This was disappointing to us because we wanted to keep going. Lastly, (which wouldn’t bother most people), is that the red trail does have a slight incline on the way back. I’m currently pregnant and I had to stop quite a few times to catch my breath on the way back. But this isn’t something that I think would bother most people. Overall it was a wonderful hike with gorgeous scenery (especially during the fall) and we plan on coming back to hike the additional trails!

Yes, although for an individual it might be tough to obtain. Permit application is through Glenville Parks office, but for an overnight you'd need to be able to obtain a certificate of insurance to accompany the permit. Scout groups and other groups can do this easily. For individuals, less easy but not impossible.
