Latest experience: We stopped in before a Bills game. Once again, the food was fantastic. Homemade Cream of Mushroom soup: outstanding. Beef on Weck: always solid. Reuben: superb. And those home made fries never disappoint. Enjoyed a real glass of Heisenberg Imperial Hefe. Excellent service to boot. Can't say enough good things about Gene's Gene's is an old-fashioned neighborhood bar that has been reinvented by new owners. They have an amazing selection of craft beers now. The food is great too. UPDATE: Was there about 2 weeks ago, jamming. Sat at the bar and thought we had to eat there or wait for an hour for a table. The hostess approached us and told us she could have a table within 2 minutes. She received a nice side tip. Ordered the deep fried haddock. Totally rocked, deep fried to perfection. All sides were home made and absolutely delicious. They must have realized not to put their homemade fries under the deep fried fish. Extremely pleasant dining experience. Had to take one half of entire dinner home. Huge portions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! First time I have seen home made fries that actually look homemade. Best fish fry to my taste. Only complaint is that the fish sat on top of the fries. Watered fries I can do without. The sides were all homemade, waitress was accomodating and just generally pleasant. Would highly recommend.....
