I wasn't there this year but they are nice when they try.

Great place in the community to help people going through a rough time. They offer shelter to the homeless with a hot meal and a change of clothes.

Remember, everything is grant funded. The workers can only move as fast as the money comes in. In the meantime, PADS tries diligently to hook its clients up to long-term housing solutions for those who are using thhe facilities and following the rules...i.e. no drinking, fighting, stealing.etc. I was a client in 2011 when things weren't so great at PADS. A man assaulted me really bad. Now things have been cleaned up a lot. Be thankful for your shelter. Lake County is much fuller and closed all weekend. It's a mess. Thank God I got matched to a Pioneer Group Home for the Chronically Homeless. None of this is easy. I was homeless in four couunties for 9 years. But you have NOT been forgotten. Your day is coming! Hang in there!
Go to 14411 kishwaukee valley road Woodstock il 60098 They provide a mailing address and other help for the homeless Make sure you tell them you are from Mchenry county
You can try to call them or drop by their place. Or, the Home of the Sparrow is a women focused group. You may call them too.

Go to pads on kishwaukee rd. Woodstock. Also check churches as each night one of them host a hot meal and cot. Also, the old firehouse in Woodstock accommodates homeless.
