In my 3 and a half years working with the social work and discharge planning team, I’ve never worked with a more organized group. They put patient care first and foremost and are great advocates for their patients. They ensure each patient is set up with home health, when appropriate, at the time of discharge which is where my team comes in. Turlock nursing and rehab goes above and beyond for their patients and it shows with every successful discharge. Working with Erma and Stephanie for years has been nothing less than a pleasure. Cynthia is a newer member to the team but she fits the compassionate atmosphere that is Turlock nursing and Rehab.

My father is there right now and his stay is going very well. I greatly appreciate that the staff are very patient with him and do their best to meet his needs. My family is thankful to all the staff for their hardwork and dedication.

Even better than we hoped. My father in law was sent here for rehab- he has copd and had got pneumonia so it took a long time for him to get off the breathing machine so he had to be trached (which is a breathing tube that they put in the neck) and they said at the original hospital that it would be unlikely that hed ever get the trach out since he was really weak from being sick so long. But hes a fighter so we had hope. The nurses and caregivers- physical therapy, respiratory therapy and speech therapy came in and explained what they needed him to do and what the goals were (he was able to facetime and text us so we were pretty much in the loop) and they pushed him and he pushed himself and we were amazed at how much he improved they even got the trach removed and he can talk and eat again! I was skeptical because of some of the negative reviews but i do know that hospitals arent the hilton and if you arent willing to work hard as a patient (like his neighbor who didnt seem to want to- like hed be always complaining and not really trying) well, like my father in law said "you get what you give". I couldnt complain about much here accept that the food was a little boring and they could have more variety and sometimes the call bells kept going off but like my brother in law whos military said " its called triaging- you put out the biggest fires first" and they do have some patients that need alot of help so I get it. One guy kept calling and it was because he didnt like his hospital gown and wanted a nicer one (Really? Not the Hilton?) and on and on so i see how that can keep them busy with things that arent that important at least in my opinion. Anyway they did a great job and i know my dad in law wouldnt have had come nearly as far and maybe wouldnt have gotten out of the hospital at all without them. And i know that healthcare workers- at least most of them really are in it to help. Funny how some of these reviews were during the pandemic and these people in healthcare risked their lives and their families to help ours and were stretched to the limit but i also know that it was a scary frustrating time for everyone . Anyway I think this place deserves a much better rating and im grateful for them and their help.
