It was a wonderful experience and very informational. I'm not from Idaho original so I know very little about the history so I found everything very fun and inviting way to learn about Idaho. Definitely will go again.

Everyone living in Idaho must visit at least once.

Another nice museum. Idaho does a really good job of keeping these places nice and clean with good staff. I would recommend stopping at this one to learn a lot about Idaho and its history

Tony, That is a great question! If you were to read every text panel, watch every video, and engage with all the hands-on technology, it would take you about 4.5 hours.
No, but guest frequent the museum for events and speaking. There are movie's shown also, on certain days. Check the museum website for the movie coming up. Thank you.

Hi Barbs, please feel free to reach out to the Museum's Group Tours Facilitator, Kelly. His phone number is (208) 780-5184 and he would be happy to help get that scheduled. Thank you!
I think Demeris might be thinking of a different museum - there is indeed a charge. Contact the museum directly for more details on the exact fee, for school tours the chaperones might be free but you might need to schedule it in advance
Hi Luke. We do have wheelchairs available for guests to use during their visit.
Hi Sharon, January 3rd will be our first, First Thursday, and we will begin doing them every month after in 2019. Admission will be free from 5pm-8pm. Hope to see you there!
Hi Ann, Thank you so much for reaching out. Here is a link to our website that helps detail the process. We have a questionnaire that will help guide you through the process. https://history.idaho.gov/donate-artifacts/
Helene, We have renewed our contract with the Downtown Boise Association for 2019, which meant forgoing the rest of 2018. We were unable to commit to 2018 because we spent the majority of the year closed. However, beginning January 3, we will be offering free admission from 5pm-8pm on First Thursdays. Hope to see you there! -Mark B.
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, students and veterans and $5 for children. $3 for EBT cardholders (up to 4 people - must show card). Online tickets were only for opening weekend pre sale. You can purchase tickets at the door.
The admission cost is $10 per adult - Senior cost is $8. Thank you.
The state archives at the Idaho History Center keeps records of various historical plat maps and maps of Boise that might help with your research. There is also a research assistant working who should be able to help you. They are open Tuesday - Saturday. You can contact them by telephone at 208-334-2620.
You may want to check with the City of Boise, Department of Parks and Recreation at 208-384-4260. I think the only restrictions are on federal lands and items that are Native American in origin are not to be disturbed.
