Your ticket is your reservation. Usually they seat you on first come, first serve. Just let the host know about your friend's late arrival.

Open Mic every first Tuesday of the month. Showing up doesn't guarantee you get to go, so show up early, sign up and if possible, bring some friends as audience.

I know for a fact that if you tell one of the comedians/comediennes that its your boyfriend's birthday, they will single either you or your boyfriend out in their time on stage. Not sure if this helps, but please do it!
