This place has the worst customer service ever! I paid my bill and I have 6 kids and they left me with no gas all day and night with no stove and no hot water. The manager was never in and never called me back.

Terrible response time for drop by tank refills. Sat out ther 10 mi utes and finally went into the office. They called an attendat and it took another 5 minutes of waiting. Seemed like I interrupted the attendant. Not coming back! No consideration for this customer's time.

I’ve been a customer of there’s for just over a year, the service has been outstanding and if you have an issue you can talk to the people directly. Not to mention great rates. I’ve dealt with three companies over the years and this one is the best. Would recommend.

Always very nice when I call to pay my bill, fast and easy, just what I want, thank you

Propane is odorless so methyl mercaptan is added to make it smell like rotten eggs. If you smell odorized propane, you must immediately take steps to secure your safety and the safety of anyone in your immediate area. Get outside of whatever structure (house, building) you may be in and immediately call 911. Propane leaks are very dangerous and you must not risk a fire or explosion that can be caused by the accidental ignition of the gas. Ignition sources can include pilot lights, light switches, or any other source of a spark or flame.
There are two types of propane tanks. Portable tanks that can be transported on public roadways are certified by the Department of Transportation (DOT) and they have a 12 year service life. The 12 years begins from the time they are maufactured with a MO/YR date stamped on the collar or footring of the tank. After 12 years, they can be recertified for an additional 5 years if they pass a visual inspection and leak test. Bulk tanks are certified by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and they can last for generations if properly maintained. The big difference between DOT and ASME tanks is that ASME tanks have devices (ex. fill valves, relief valves & supply level gauges) that can fail while the tank shell is still in working condition. Bulk tanks require regular inspections and some amount of periodic maintenance. Valves and gauges do need to be replaced after some period of time (depending on the manufacturer and type).
Propane is amazing for a variety of reasons but one of the best qualities it has is stability in storage. A propane tank is a closed system and when you shut the valve and leave the tank in a safe place the fuel can be stored indefinetely. We occasionally have people bring us old cylinders (20, 30 or more years old) with propane inside because they think the fuel is bad. Old or new, the propane in your tank is fine.
We sure do! We carry propane tanks from Flame King, Manchester, and Worthington Industries in addition to propane stoves, burners and smokers from Camp Chef. If you need propane, propane tanks or propane equipment, come see us on Moffat Blvd!
Will-call delivery is when the customer takes complete responsibility for scheduling deliveries to their home or business. Will-call deliveries are scheduled when the customer calls, for the next available delivery date in their area. With will-call delivery, the customer is responsible for scheduling their delivery far enought in advance to prevent their supply from running out. PRO TIP: if you insist on will-call delivery, program a reminder on your phone for every Monday morning to check your supply % on the fuel guage of your tank. Always call for a delivery as soon as your guage indicates that you are below 30% - in the winter deliveries may be booked out as much as 10 days so you need to call while you still have plenty of propane in your tank. If you can't stay on top of your fuel supply, choose routed delivery and leave it to us.
Routed (or automatic) delivery is when we take responsibility for maintaining your continuous supply of propane at your home or business. With routed delivery from Kamps Propane, we install a SMART System propane supply monitor on your bulk tank at your home or business and the SMART System tells us (via landline or cell phone network) how much propane you have in your tank. When your supply level dips below 30% we schedule a delivery so that you never run out.
Propane tank recycling is a labor intensive process so there is a fee for each tank, depending on the size. 1lb disposable tanks are $3.00/tank, 20lb BBQ tanks are $5.00/tank and larger tanks are $1.00/gallon/tank - so a 7 gallon tank is $7.00. The fee covers our removal of any residual liquid propane and valve and then puncturing the cylinder so that it may be sold as scrap metal. When you look at the cost of recycling, it makes no sense to buy single use cylinders. Switch to re-useable cylinders and save!
We do - we offer Little Kamper 1lb cylinder exchange - the cylinders are $12.99 plus tax to purchase (pre-filled) and $1.99 to exchange (empty for full). These are Flame King 1lb refillable cylinders and we keep them pre-filled and ready to use at our office. If you need to purchase or exchange more than 10 at a time, please call us in advance so we can be sure to have enough ready when you arrive.
We open our cylinder refilling station at 8am M, We, Th & F - Tuesdays we open at 9am. We close for lunch from 12-1 every day. We stop filling cylinders at 4:30pm every day.
We buy tanks and provide them to our customers as part of our service. Tank owners are required to maintain all of the devices (valves & fuel level gauge) that can fail over time so using one of our tanks is the easiest way to enjoy the benefits of propane without the hassles associated with tank maintenance. For more details, call us!
