The Van Sickle Bi-State Park and trail is a great State Park and trial to hike and visit in South Lake Tahoe. The trail is a few miles long and offers amazing viewing of Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountain ranges, and there is even a small waterfall. Highly recommend visiting and hiking if in South Lake Tahoe.

Nicely groomed and clearly marked trails that provide nice views and great day hikes within walking distance of "the strip". Remember to bring water, stay on marked trails and be prepared for a little extra challege when if you are not used to hiking in a higher elevation.

Right in SLT's backyard is a lovely trail to a waterfall with fabulous views.

I don't believe things are closed, I just don't believe its a great idea to be hiking in the smoke? I went in a smokey day but that fire was much further away, with the condor fire being so close I think it would be a terrible idea. Tahoe, the mountains, or hiking in that area is just not safe right now
If walking is a path
Maybe 5 or 6 miles....not crazy elevation, more gradual, but I'm not used to this elevation in general being from Florida. It kicked my butt. It's a nice hike...
