I found this place being new to Kansas in early Fall. I thought it was beauitful. So came back in spring,The grass was short so I walked a big loop. My dog got ticks here so that's no fun. Bug and tick spray is a must. Big watching yeah! Hiking sure.

I enjoyed the trails here. Not a large park and very close to I70, so constant traffic noise. But great for a quick hike or some leisure time next to the water.

Questions & Answers

We have a red eared turtle that made its way to our back yard pond early this summer, it is not real big but with winter coming we don't know what to do with it. Any suggestions

Take the Red-Eared Slider to the Audobon Wildlife Sanctuary outside of Salina, KS. The turtle will thank you later!

Where have the birds gone. Back yard had many. Now only hummingbird and doves

Brenda, this time of year birds are done nesting, except for the doves, and preparing for winter. Flocking up in the country or they may have already left for their wintering grounds. Birds are moving from up north to this area soon and you should find your winter residents.
