the mental health unit here is okay. it didn’t make me feel any worse, but it didn’t make me feel better either. a lot of the female staff was very rude. a few nurses were demanding and yelled a lot. the art of expressive therapist whatever it was called was not nice what so ever and tried to push people out of their comfort zone. I noticed the male staff was mostly all pretty great. a nurse name Daniel I think was a sweetheart. They don’t have any activities for you to do, so it’s pretty depressing. even though it’s an adult unit.. I still believe they should have things for us to do. groups were optional however if i accidentally fell asleep the person leading the group wouldn’t come wake me up!! I didn’t want to miss a single group but I fell asleep often because there was literally nothing else to do. you could watch tv or write on some paper… that was about it. Didn’t really teach me any coping mechanisms or help, just pushed me to get on some meds. I am grateful I had a safe place to stay when I was in a very low place mentally. I just wish some of the female staff was nicer. How are people supposed to get better if you aren’t treating them right? I feel like they have the mindset that they will get better from their out patient treatment when they leave but you should be helping them feel better well they’re staying there! Also I suggest more clocks around the unit… there was one singular click by the nurses station.. how were we supposed to know what time it is and when group started? I had to keep walking up there to see the time or just guess when I needed to leave my room so i didn’t miss group.

Online it says you take calls at 8am. Why can't your switchboard operators get to work on time and answer call. Doesn't make sense. Wish I could work banker hours. You would think that a hospital would open the switchboard at 8am like it says on google, if not then update your hours online. The answering service said they answer calls starting at 8am. Where is this person. Maybe I should apply for that job. At least I can get to work ontime. This is very unreliable. Don't recommend.

He doesn't need money. You can bring him 3 sets of clothes, as long as they don't have strings. He can also have house shoes or any shoes without strings.
