We stopped at Black River books on our way through town because my husband had seen a book on our last visit but he had not purchased. Unfortunately the book was no longer available, but the staff was as friendly as they had been on our first visit. We'll stop by again the next time we're in town.

So many wonderful and pre-enjoyed books and not enough time to peruse even a fraction. Most books contemporary, fiction and non are highly discounted from the cover price. There are also signed, first editions and rare books for sale. Prices are written in pencil on the upper corner of the first page.

Cute used and new Bookshop in a cute and fun little town. The friendly staff chatted about books and the area (Booksellers always have the inside scoop on the best local haunts). The shop is full to bursting with interesting books and has little nooks where one can stop to look through the treasures they have found. They don't inventory their books so you have to browse the stacks if you are looking for a specific title but the staff seemed ready to help with any requests. Think of it more like a treasure hunt with lots of gems to seek out.
