We drove 10 hours from Minneapolis to Indiana. When we got to our hotel (the Sherman) we were pleasantly greeted by the front desk employees and checked in promptly. The room was amazing, I was so glad we didn't get a chain hotel. The sitting room was great to enjoy a meal and watch some TV to unwind. The bathroom was amazing! That shower pressure was invigorating, had to take 2 before I left. The sleeping area was comfortable and I appreciate the separate air conditioners in each room, I need to be cold to sleep. I would definitely get a room there again if I am ever in town. Oh and the food we ordered from room service was the best meal I've had in a long time!

The entire Sherman Inn, Bier Garden and private dining areas are all updated very nicely, are clean and we received great service. Batesville is a beautiful town and we'll definitely be back and highly recommend.

Very comfortable, clean, and convenient place to stay. The service was excellent and prompt, and the front desk/managers were always wonderful, easy to talk to and eager to help. They’re knowledgeable about the local area, and gave a well-deserved recommendation for the Pearl St. Pub nearby.

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay at The Sherman. While there were a few cons, the overall experience was a good one. We loved the bathroom. The room itself was not extremely sound proof - however, it is a historical building so that is understandable. The hotel décor and styling is extremely enjoyable if you enjoy historic buildings. I especially enjoyed the restaurant area. Truly, the restaurant is what put this place over the top for us. The food was 100% amazing! We had breakfast here both days of our stay and it was not only delicious but memorable. Our servers were extremely nice and the food was worth raving over. If we are ever in the area again (live out of state) we would definitely want to come back here.
