Nice accomodations for a state park hotel. Room had a nice little kitchenette and refrigerator which makes it convenient. It was rather rustic and aged but I wasn't expecting a 5 star hotel.

It's a Park lodge not a 4 star hotel, so rating is relative. Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are clean, and nothing is broken. There is some issue going on with the septic system outside - odor is noticeable in some areas near the hotel. That was not the case when we stayed last summer.

The location is great with amazing views. The rooms were clean with a personal balcony, has a fridge and coffee maker but no microwave. Cell service and wifi was great throughout most of the park (witn a Verizon plan). There is a park restaurant with good food but limited times that vary depending on the day of the week so be prepared to travel to Elkhorn or Haysi for dinners or breakfast (both have limited but good food options) or bring your own food. The staff was very nice and helpful!
