Really nice place to stay, honestly can't believe it's free! Offers more shade and privacy than nearby KOA options. The river access is great, cleaner than river access locations in eastern parts of the state. Neighbors are friendly and quiet even on weekends. Super short distance to grocery store and gas stations. Overall this place is amazing!

A lovely little city park but something strange while I was here, May 23, 2022. There's a boat launch at the far end, but I didn't see one boat going there. Just a steady stream of trucks and cars (no campers) driving in and out of the far loop, every few minutes starting with first daylight and continuing long into the evening. A lot of gunfire that sounded like target shooting. Unfortunately, the constant passing traffic kicked up clouds of dirt from the dry, hard packed road, so staying in the front campsites was a gritty experience, similar to being in a dust storm in the desert.

Nice little city park. Has a flush toilet and cold water sink. Fresh water and dumpster. Quite a bit of road noise, and vehicles driving in, out, and thru the park (boat ramp at the Yellowstone river at the end). Train tracks nearby. Spaces vary in size up to 60 ft. Lots of trees and pretty good shade. Ten day limit. Above all fees are by donations only!

We just so happened to camp here for the night on our cross-country road trip. It’s Memorial Day long weekend & spots are very full! We were lucky to get this spot to the right. Big trailers are rolling in every 30 mins, circling for spots. There’s no bathroom on the far end of the campground. Luckily we have a hand shovel & biodegradable wipes. Also no potable water here. We have a small collapsible tank but forgot to fill it up! Oops. Don’t forget to fill up yours~ Thank you for the donation-based site! So gracious of you Columbus, MT.

Super safe, cops patrol the area. And Columbus is a nice town
Not cleared in winter and toilets are shut off.
