Interesting spot -- a concrete bridge covered in graffiti is now a pedestrian bridge over the Haw. The Haw is extra wide here and quite scenic -- not far from where it joins the Deep River to become the Cape Fear.

I love hiking at the Haw River. The trails aren't kept as well as some, but they're manageable. There are beautiful views of the river

Beautiful place to hike a long the river. Flat hike but a few rocky section and creek crossings.

FIshing at the HAW is remarkable. Spring time has the white bass run. There are a few gas stations on 64hw that you can get lures and other supplies while you make your way there. The fisherman there are friendly and will give good advice on catching these fish. I recommend catch and release to keep these guys here for a long time

Questions & Answers

Where can you see a map of this park? Without a map showing boundaries and access points the park might just as well not exist.

Not sure. I grew up right there on the hill above the river before it ever became a park. I did however find out that certain property owners on the river have cameras set up below the bridge for no trespassing and for private property. It's not clear at all as to the boundaries.

Can you camp here? Can i leave my car over night, kayak and wildreness camp a night in my hammock? Will my car be towed?

I dont know about the car being towed. But some parts along the river are private property while other sections are state property. I've seen somewhere that no camping along river I believe. I kayak the river and would love to camp the state property with my hammock. I only worry about my car being towed as well.
