We had a fun day searching sharks tooth and keg island. Only took about 10 minutes to kayak there from the river road access. We didn’t see any big teeth, just small ones, but still lots of fun!

Rented kayaks from Barrier Island Kayaks. It was a quick and easy trip to the island. We spent about 1.5 to 2 hours there and my family of four probably found about 100 teeth. Some of them were tiny and others were bigger but not huge. I heard people who were having a harder time than us but I think it just requires patience and knowing what you are looking for. We had a fun time and would come back! Photo is just what I found, not my entire family.

We only found two small teeth. We went right at low tide but had no luck. There were some people already there and they had found several small ones. We headed over to Keg Island and had better luck. Once the sandbar at Keg is exposed, there are lots of little pools that have teeth and other fossils in them. We did find some just laying on top as well. The sandbar is huge and not far from shore. A very easy kayak ride. Go before low tide.
