I'm not going to give this one star because this has nothing to do with the nurses and doctors there. In fact, they took pretty good care of my friend. What bothers me is when I was on hold. Their COVID material was so out of date. It was scary. They said in fact if you get vaccinated then you stop to spread of COVID. And we know now that's 100% not true and we also know now it was 100% money grab by the pharma companies. Stop offending us, thinking we are ignorant. We are tired of you.

PLEASE, PLEASE, if your child is suffering with a mental issue, DO NOT, take him/her to this place. NHRMC overall is a fine hospital with fine doctors. The psych ward of the emergency department (ED), however, is sorely lacking. They will not give your child adequate treatment. My child has become worse under their "care". If you raise any concern about treatment, personnel will file involuntary commitment (IVC) papers and strip you of your rights to your child. They did this to me. I am a well-educated professional with three graduate degrees and, like all parents, I know what is best for my child. Personnel filed IVC papers for my child BEFORE the doctor gave them their first psych exam. ZERO, ZERO due process. When I objected to the IVC, personnel had police escort me off-site; welcome to Moscow, Pyongyang, or Tehran. If you want your constitutional liberties violated, this place could be a theme park. There is zero due process for the most vulnerable. Remember, the U.S. Supreme Court decided in 1975 (O'Connor v. Donaldson) that "A State cannot constitutionally confine... a non-dangerous individual who is capable of surviving safely in freedom by himself or with the help of willing and responsible family members or friends..." Novant NHRMC ED psych ward never got the memo. A person in psychosis is most vulnerable, a concept that seems lost on the personnel. Save yourself the time of sending your loved one to the psych ward in the ED. I know you may be at your wits-end. However, please consult legal advice prior to sending your child anywhere. The ED here will take your rights away without explaining any of your remaining rights to you. Do better than I did for your child!

Absolute joke! My son had a copperhead bite and we sat two hours waiting. Luckily the bite was mild. We finally just gave up and went home. Literally took one person back in the time we sat there. No communication. Sadly we were insured, double insured actually and were at the er for an actual emergency not bs. Clearly this ER needs to reevaluate how they handle emergency services. A separate set up for Covid and colds would be a good place to start.

If you lost the paper referral and know the doctor you were referred to you can either call that doctor's office, or the referral office should be calling you to setup and appointment, depending on what it's for.
Go to medical records in the business center at the corner of 17th and Independence.
Yes. You will be given one upon discharge. If you lose it or need another one you can contact Medical Records and they can print a new one.
