Hi! The Back to School Bash is on Thursday, August 16! It will be at Lowell school this year.

Right now, the fund for rental assistance there, has been used up. They're hoping to have more funding by Fall. Summertime is the most difficult time to find rent and utility assistance in Mi Once funding returns, you can call or go in to speak to one of the social services workers. To apply, you will need to bring either a lease or an intent to rent, a valid photo I.D., and proof of income (last 2 paystubs or proof of public assistance or social security). Once approved, it takes up to 3 weeks for the landlord to receive the funding. Also, the assistance amount usually taps out at around $300 so checking other places for assistance can be helpful. I hope this helps. If you need help now, you can also dial 211 from a local phone. That's First Call for Help and they sometimes have leads of what funding is available in the community. Lastly, try calling 549- HOPE. That is a number some local churches put in place as a consolidated resource. They may know something. God bless you!
