I had to use these guyses services. The person that did my intake after the hospital called her put off an I don't want to be here vibe. She was very uninterested in anything I was saying. She told me they have a lot of services to help people out of bad situations when in the end none of it was true or if it is the residents sure don't have access or knowledge of them. They lost my housing application twice. So it took them a month to get my application to the people who needed it. The advocates pick and chose who they want to help and who they don't. If you stand up for yourself they won't help u as much. If u have a job they won't help you as much as someone who doesn't have a job. I have 2 very young kids and they gave me one days notice of my discharge date wich was 2 weeks before the actual time frame they had originally gave me. They don't tell the residents of any support systems unless you specifically ask them about a particular service. The advocates are almost never available. I was almost late to work because resident keys won't open doors or gates until after 6. I told them I have to leave by 5:00 am to get to work on time when I called the crisis line the line wasn't even on the advocate it was in the office while the advocate was nowhere to be seen. The people that drop off cloths to donate the residents rarely see any cloths unless it's from another resident donating them. The only thing that is donated that residents ever see is food. Wich 90% of the time isn't eaten at all and it just sits on the counter till someone throws it away. The communication between all the employees is lacking they don't communicate anything even if it's important. Someone seriously needs to look into these guys because all the funding and donations they get isn't going to where it is supposed to.

Is he abusive? They helped me when I was getting away from my ex.
There are so many service offered at the Y, too many to list. Support services for survivors of intimate partner violence and/or sexual assault, Tuesday night support groups, housing navigation, child visitation supervision, programs to help teens who identify as female, walk-in office to link folks to community resources. I know I'm missing some. You can just walk in and possibly see a peer support person or make an appointment depending on what you need.
The YWCA can help you find shelter but depends on availability. There is a community homeless shelter adjacent to the YWCA.
