Whoever failed to plan for the extended/permanent shutdown of recycling and transition to compostibles should be fired...first the failure to address the CRV's(,Del Norte bailed us out) and now this disaster...total failure, Ms. Duffy (who has been rehired!)

You have to pay to get rid of your trash and you have to take it out your vehicle yourself

Pqy q huge amount to have them pick up q little Grey container that barly holds 3 bags of trash? I don't think so. Taking it in yourself is definitely the way to go. I pay $20 dollars every two weeks for up to 200lbs of trash. Vs the 180 q month or what ever it was. Take your own it is much much cheaper. Even better when you and a neighbor team up and take turns. Very friendly staff and even when crowded thr wait time to toss your garbage is only a couple minutes.

At the recycling center on W Hawthorne in Eureka. Small batteries are free while larger lead-acid motor vehicle batteries are free for the first 3 and $1 for each additional one.
Yes, clear plastic drop cloths are considered regular trash.
The rates are by weight. They charge $155.82 per ton (in 20 lb increments, so it's about $1.55 per 20 lbs.) A trailer may have assorted surcharges as well. A freon fridge would be +$20. Ammonia, butane, and commercial fridges are +$65. Each tire is +$6.50. There is also a demolition surcharge ranging from $16.25 on up depending on how much work is needed during demolition. It's best to call to ascertain an approximate listing of surcharges and to make an appointment for demolition. Both can be brought to HWMA's recycling center. The receiver is free as it is scrap metal, and they charge 5 cents per pound for electronic waste. TVs and monitors are a flat $2 each.
There is no charge to dump a mattress and box spring. Be sure to let the scale attendant know right before you would pay that all you had was mattresses and/or box springs.
