I just want to give a shout out to the Klamath Falls Police Officer who bought me a Dutch Bros Coffee on April 15th. I'm guessing you originally noticed me driving a semi around downtown looking for a parking spot, and it was only by coincidence that you pulled-up behind me as I was standing at the drive-thru window. In all honesty I wanted to buy you a Dutch Bros, but I have tried this before for other law enforcement officers and they have always told me no thank you as they can't accept gifts. But the fact that you paid for my coffee was really nice of you and I do appreciate it. Stay safe out there!

The dispatch lady badge #56738 was extremely rude and yelled at me when I asked if the officer was coming back out because my son and I were in our car for over an hour waiting. We saw the officer drive by, I was hoping to speak to him. I wanted to know if we should head home or not. I understand there are other calls and people in need of help. I was not being demanding or impatient. I asked a simple question in a respectful manner. The dispatch lady was being short with me prior because my phone was having poor reception. I accepted her demeanor and went on to ask my question. Little did I know in asking my question I was going to be yelled at so loudly where my young son heard her yelling at me, "I don't think you're hearing me, are you hearing me? I said he will call you when he calls you." There was more disrespect and yelling from this lady that I won't go into right now. We just moved here and we come from the city where you always hear sirens going. I personally have lived many places and I never have received the unprofessionalism I received from this dispatcher. I am astonished in how this would even be allowed. To be impatient, yell and dismissive towards the person who is calling in regards of feeling threatened or helpless is completely wrong. Being friends with officers (that live in another state) whom encouraged me to apply for a dispatcher position. I looked into what it takes to be dispatcher. I guess that's another reason why I am shocked that I was spoken to the way I was. People who call 911 need a person calm and collective to speak to. We are obviously calling because we don't feel safe. To have someone yell at you instead creates uneeded fear and chaos. Qualities of a good dispatcher include: High moral character and integrity Compassion Good judgment High degree of emotional self control Empathy and sensitivity Intelligence Good communication skills Self confidence Creativity and ingenuity Strong desire to serve the community Effective at multi-tasking
