It seems unprofessional to say that you are an emergency vet and the have 8 to 9 hour waits.

*I'm not sure why my review was construed as negative by Taylor Vet. With 4 stars, I'm mostly satisfied! The minus 1 is really circumstantial and simply that a tech could triage sooner to assure no immediate danger. That is all, otherwise a successful and good experience which is why I initially express my "thank you". Like any emergency room for humans, it works this way here for our pets. If your pet is in a critical state they will be seen before others. If it's after 5pm (I think its 5) it will be a bit higher in price. The lobby has high ceilings and feels clean, airy and open but cozy as well due to the couches and casual-country decor. There is a single cup coffee maker and coffee at your reach as a courtesy. Our senior dog was very ill but stable so we waited about 3.5 hours. About 2.5 hrs waiting we did need to *ask* for a tech to confirm he wasn't in immediate danger and they checked within 15 mins after asking. Once seen for his care, evaluation, testing and treatment was pretty quick. They discovered his problem and he was medicated before leaving. They gave us his rx and a 4 day treatment for pancreatitis. He was a lot better by day 3 and is all better today which is 4 days after starting treatment. Thank you, Taylor Vet & Dr. Grothe. I just wish we had a 24hr ER Vet closer to the merced area because this wasn't exactly close enough and it was busy but it was not too hard to get to and parking was easy. I imagine they are understaffed.

To be safe i would make an appointment
Hi there! Unfortunately due to insurance and liability reasons we do not accept volunteers. If you are enrolled in a Vet Assistant, Vet Tech or Pre-Vet school we can arrange through you school to do work experience hours or externships that way you are covered under the school's liability insurance.
They don't treat ANYTHING decently
