Great place to experience real mountain life and amenities! Follow the sign and turn north off Hwy 108 (closed late fall to early spring). It’s a well-groomed dirt road; ok for cars (4X4 not required). Free entrance and parking! Area has restrooms but it’s rarely crowded, especially during the week. Well-groomed hiking trail around the reservoir that’s easy - moderate. No swimming or recreating on the water (probably ok to dip your feet in the water). Leashed pets allowed. It’s easy access (between Mi-Wuk and Long Barn) and everything you could want for experiencing the mountains (other than water recreation).

They have a dam that releases water below like a water fall into creek ! So No swimming !! Fishing only .
You can search Google to check water levels for any of California's reservoirs, it'll take just as long as it did to ask this question and you'll have the answers your looking for, good luck.
