We loved our private carriage tour. Our driver, Talletha, pointed out all of the interesting sites and provided interesting stories. Our mule, Bondie, was a reall trooper!
Andrea Seaborn
Our tour guide was awesome. He shared very good information and he was very patient and answered all of our questions. I really liked our horse Lou. If you are in the area I recommentld this tour.

No and I would never use them. I paid 3 weeks in advance and the day of the ride, they never showed.
The info shown here is not really accurate. You can meet at Jackson Square and pick your own carriage, driver and mule. The cost is either $100 for a half hour narrated tour (up to 4 people) or a group carriage ($20 each once the carriage fills (6-8 passengers for the 1/2 hr. An hour tour is $200 for private or $40 each. Pickups at hotels or drop offs are Extra! Reservations are Not required and are extra. There are 4 companies during the day and 3 companies in the evenings (after 4) Unless you are holding a Baby everyone pays the same. A 2 yr old is Not a Baby. Lots of great drivers out there and is a Great thing to do! Don't get fooled with gift certificates, read the fine print! Enjoy!!
Please be assured that our mules are well cared for and very well loved. Their health and well-being are our HIGHEST priority. From June 1 through mid-September our day shift works from 9am to 2:30pm, and our night shift works from 6pm to 11:30pm, thus ensuring the mules work less than 6 hours and not during the hottest part of the day. Our hour-long tours are scheduled for every 90 minutes, ensuring the mules get a 30 minute break between each tour. It is important to note that different mules are used for each shift. Each mule works no more than 5 days a week (some work fewer) and after 6-9 months in the city, each mule gets a 3 month vacation at our farm in Poplarville, MS All this we do as part of our normal care, but to be sure other operators follow suit, city regulations prohibit the operation of carriage tours when the temperature exceeds 95F, or the heat index exceeds 105F. Significant fines are applied to any driver who violates this law. Best Regards, Royal Carriages
Yes, our large carriages can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests in the carriage. Our tour times are at 7:30pm and 9pm; we do not run a tour at 8pm. You can see tour descriptions and times, and make reservations on our website - neworleanscarriages.com.
The tours are everyday from morning until night. We've taken several at night.
That is Kalecia and her “muliecorn”, Claudia. They don’t work for our company and we don’t have contact info for her, but you can reach her through Facebook at Claudia the Muliecorn.
I hope so. That would be awesome.
Sorry. The legal limit is 8 passangers per carriage (no matter size of people or carriage). You may, however, take two carriages and have them stay together.
Yes. The Cemetery and French Quarter tour includes going into St. Louis Cemetery #1. Tours are available to be pre-booked online from 10-1 in the summer.
They do not. Only tours for the French Quarter and St Louis Cemetary #1
Most carriages are covered, I wouldn't think they cancel.
Eekicks is correct! Do the night haunted tour it's legit!
Malibu Welch is right, $20 each. I and family went in the afternoon. They did have different prices. Well worth it. Would do it again. If you Google it before you go, sometimes there are offers with discounts.
The baby (3 month old) you will not have to pay for. However, you will have to pay for your other children. There are a limited number of people allowed per carriage, so (just like the airlines) the company must charge per person/seat.
Try to send them a FB message
That's a little hiccup that we're dealing with. Private, 4-person carriages do their pickups at 700 Decatur, at Jackson Square.
Same day shouldn't be a problem. We went right on
4 - 8 depending on the size of the carriage.
