The van driver was so kind for the trip. When we walked through the door we saw friendly faces welcoming us in. My room was ready and everyone was so nice.

Dont bother with this place...your emails & phone calls will be ignored. If I could give 0 stars I would. The communication from the directors of this place is terrible. We ended up going with the woodleigh of baton rouge instead and luckily was able to get my mom in just in time before her 30 day cut off. If you cant handle simple phone calls or simple emails then I'm sorry you shouldnt be left to care for other people.

I come from a medical family. This place needs to be taken over by the state. My mother was in this facility and was NOT given consistent care. Sadly, the few competent, compassionate people there are outnumbered by ones whose indifference and lack of sympathy is staggering. Some administrators were kind. Others told us what we wanted to hear. Our attempts to get my mother's medical records were consistently blocked. We were told the file was over 200 pages and would a fee per page. We offered to pay. Suddenly, no one was ever available to produce the records. My mother had severe cognitive decline. SHE WAS BLAMED for not complying with the requests of the medical staff. She needed to be rotated every 2 hours. She did prefer to lay on her back. However, she was in no condition to make her own decisions. The staff allowed her to remain on her back though the family BEGGED that she be rotated to avoid pressure ulcers. Well, that is exactly what happened. Overwhelmingly, these people betrayed my mother in her most sad and vulnerable state. My mother had been a medical professional in her earlier days. She would ask questions about her care. That was NOT appreciated. My God. My Momma. She deserved much better. My family visited often, many times making multiple visits in one day. I popped up at night. My mother had a cell phone we provided her with. It would go missing, or the charger would. There were too many incidents to relate here. Just keep your loved one with you even if you have to get an attorney to do so. As regards this place, please find another facility, one close to your home or job so you can visit your elderly sweetheart DAILY. Let them know you care. We did this but still it went as bad as bad can go.
