My beautiful sweet 5 year old cat named Tobi was experiencing multiple UTI problems in the past & had a major PU surgery last year to hopefully solve the problems. He had another complication come up this past Friday and after having a blockage removed at Sherwood Emer. Vet. & a visit here on Sunday after he was showing signs of not getting better, the doctors agreed it was time to peacefully pass him on. This was an extremely hard situation for me given it was my first pet of my own & the clinic here at LSU was EXTREMELY accommodating and transparent to the T with the pricing, without me even asking. It was a 150$ fee to be seen I should mention. I just want to thank the staff here for being very polite & compassionate in this experience, as it was extremally hard for me to say goodbye. Thank you again & forever my sweet boy Tobias.

Great people and caring honest Drs. I like the fact that they aren't trying to bamboozle you into expensive tests and are straight to the fact.. Thank you to the students and the excellent Drs. Jerry and I brought our pet to the LSU Veterinary School of Medicine to determine if a mass near her heart was cancerous. (July 19, 2022) We had shed many tears, prayed for the tumor to be benign, and above all trusted God. After the examination, Dr. Aliya Magee, a kind and compassionate veterinarian, looked at me and her first words were, “There is no mass only fatty tissue. She said we have a healthy bulldog and will see her next year!” I cannot thank God enough in leading my husband and me to LSU Veterinary School of Medicine and placing Dr. Aliya Magee in our path. Thank you, Dr. Aliya Magee, for the excellent care you gave to my precious bulldog. I have confidence in you and the LSU Veterinary School of Medicine and will highly recommend its state of the arts services. Vicki Nails Lafayette, La.

I have a chronically ill cat (he has FIV, cataracts, glaucoma, etc.) and I have taken him here to see Opthalmology and Cardiology. The vets and vet students here have been nothing but wonderful and professional, and they've provided amazing care for my cat. The costs can be expensive at times, but the vets were always very upfront about the costs and have made suggestions about getting medications and procedures done elsewhere in the community to help keep things as affordable as possible. I would highly recommend anyone take their pets here for veterinary care.

Questions & Answers

I have a year old Pekin duck with a prolapse vent that will not go back inside. I have tried warm baths, preparation H, coconut oil and sugar etc. Nothing is working and it is very painful for her to have me touch it. Is there anything else to do ?

If anyone can help you it would be them. Definitely worth the call to make an appointment.

My shih Tzu have allergies. They have been on apaquel for about a year. It doesn't seem to be working anymore. What else can I do?

My terrier mix has very bad skin allergies and apoquel didn’t do anything for him. When we went to the vet school, they ran some tests and gave him a shot called Cytopoint. After years of misery, it’s the only that’s worked for him. I hope you get some answers!
