Great place to go and see beautiful scenery. Don't be afraid to get your feet wet and have fun. Pack a picnic and enjoy your loved ones. Nice area's you can fish, just bring your own bait. Mostly a huge rock you are walking on.

Questions & Answers

Had a picnic here with my daughter a few days ago. Its a great place. Used the "entrance" off 96 to park. From the looks of Google maps...the Pulley Town side doesnt look much easier...suggestions?

The 96 side is the easier side for a picnic. Come in, pass the boulders, stick to the left. Follow the trail over and around some large trees, and there is a large clearing area, good for picnic, light wading. Follow the water down a little and it CAN get up to 3 or 4 feet, without going down Creek. The Mitchell mill side has more trails, little streams coming from the old dam. After rainfall my family and I go tubing on the far side of the dam. If you follow the trails off the entrance, there's a place we go swimming (the water can be fairly deep). The Mitchell mill side is more difficult for small children. Be warned, this is a nature park, there is poison ivy and oak, I have seen a few snakes, and mosquitoes (usually near dusk). We like this place for an outing.

Is there like an open entrance or what?

I only know of one entrance. It's difficult to park in, and will only hold a few cars. However, we spotted an older couple across the water and couldn't figure out how to get over there. My son crossed the water and went over to speak to them. They told him they parked in the main parking lot. I don't know how to get to it. There is no way to explore the area we go to without going through the water unless you park in the small off road area we park in unless I haven't found a bridge!? Still trying to figure out how to get through the entire park. I love this place though. The accessibility is not ideal, but it's really beautiful.
