The meat quality seems to have gone way down... The prices definitely didn't reflect what I was being sold. I expected a quality steak for 25.00, it was thin, small, and dry (it was med rare and dry) the noodles and veggies were pretty good, the rice had a weird smell to it so I didn't even try that. I definitely remember them holding themselves to a much higher standard. UPDATE: tried this place again today and was surprised that the fried rice that normally came with a meal is now a 2.00 upcharge, shrimp was a little burnt.. portions were smaller than ever and prices just really are not worth what you get.. quality or amount... I will say though service was great, our server was perfect! She was the only thing good about it really.

Reservations definitely needed if you want to want to sit in front of the hibachi grills n for large groups
Definatly worth the prices when it comes to combos. Depending on the type of meat you get will determine how much it really is. No more than $24 for scallops and shrimp thats with a salad an soup include taxes.

I've only been there once and sat at a group table. It did appear that private tables were available and my experience at other Japanese Steakhouses has been that private tables are usually available for groups of a certain minimum size, or for a price. I would give them a call and inquire. The food and service were both excellent.
While I do enjoy their hibachi, I am a bigger fan of sushi. As I understand that you can get any combination of their primary Hibachi dishes in concert with any of the others.

Depending on where you sit, it could be up to 12 at the Tappan grill or you can always request additional seating.
