We’ve stayed in many B&Bs across the country, and this was one of the best - roomy house tucked into a bucolic country setting, showing off the excellent building skills of the 1960s. We loved the intact tiling in the bathroom, original floor, and hand-built bed headboard in the Western Room. Everything was sparkling clean. The modernized tiled kitchen is welcoming and sleek, and opens into a patio overlooking flowering native plants and many trees. Breakfast featured local breads, fresh fruit and exceptional bacon even a pescatarian can love. Best of all is the personable and knowledgeable hostess - we learned a lot about sustainable living and the people who live in this area. We stayed two nights, and cycled on the Cardinal Greenway each day.

Great bed and breakfast for the price you can beat it. Excellent host, close to town but far enough out of town that you have a very secluded rural feel. Absolutely beautiful house that is super clean. If I was coming to Richmond again I would stay here again no questions asked.

My fiancé and I stayed here for a week in June 2019. Leighanne is a very accommodating hostess. She contacted us prior to arrival to ensure that she stocked her pantry to suit our dietary requirements for her full service breakfast and to ensure that she would be home to greet us when we arrived. Leighanne chooses fresh, high quality ingredients to serve on her breakfast menu. Her expansive kitchen is also perfect for those looking to make their own meals and she welcomes her guests to make full use of it. Leighanne’s home is the perfect retreat: the décor is inviting and her housekeeper keeps the space clean and tidy; there is a hot tub and large patio opening out to a beautiful and well-maintained garden that provides space for relaxation; the rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable and the walls are well insulated to provide for a restful night of sleep. Leighanne mentioned to me in conversation that her motto has always been to “under promise and over deliver”. I would say that she’s kept her word during our stay. During our time at Leighanne’s home, we also met guests who frequently stay there when visiting Richmond; I think this is a true testament to the high ratings for this bed & breakfast. I highly recommend Seldom Scene Meadow Bed & Breakfast and will definitely be staying here each time I am in Richmond.

A friend and I spent three wonderful nights at Seldom Scene Meadow. It's a beautiful property in a quiet setting, but so close to everything in Richmond. The house is immaculate! We stayed in the Jack 'n Jill Suite. The bedding is so comfortable I looked forward to climbing into bed every night. I slept better here than I do at home - and that doesn't happen very often when I'm away. The expanded continental breakfast is worth looking forward to each morning and one day we did the full country breakfast - which is truly and extra-special treat. The innkeepers are so inviting and truly make their guest feel like family. I loved our conversations with them in the evenings. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in your lovely home!

Not sure, but I know the owner has an old dog that lives there. So, may be so. It's a nice place, very nicely furnished, so may be not for a poorly behaved dog, or dog that has accidents often. There is a large backyard, and a long gravel driveway. So good places to walk a dog.
I don't believe so. You do have access to a full kitchen though.
No swimming pool. There are 5 different bedrooms and 3 bathrooms I believe.
The owner is very flexible and will work with you for the best time. That said, the latest I've checked in was 8pm on my stays here.
