They cherry pick the donations. I understand why they do that right now because they are flooded with donations right now, but when things calm down in the world I will remember their rudeness. We called before making the trip down there to ensure they were open and to ensure they were taking furniture donations. They said they were and there were no restrictions. We had a truck and trailer full of good furniture, lamps, some ikea pieces, two antique pieces and two not solid, but decent pieces that came out of a child’s room like a drawing desk and bookshelf. My partner was enraged how rude they were about it. He told them it was an all or nothing donation since it was good stuff and not trashy junk. They said they would take five or six pieces, but not all of it. They could have cared less. The warehouse manager needs to work on his communication skills or lack there of. He was the rudest and shrugged a lot without using words. Again, we called before the lugged it all down there, so it was shocking to be treated so rudely. Old Savannah City Mission happily took every single piece of the furniture and they were grateful. We have always donated to The Salvation Army, but this has changed our perspective of the entire organization.
