I really wanted to live at the Lory. I was out of town, though, and I could not visit the complex in person. I had to call multiple times to even reach someone in the office, who told me she was new and I would have to contact the property manager to get my questions answered. But I wasn’t allowed to call the property manager - only email her. I sent multiple emails to her and to the Lory office and got zero response. Finally I gave up and rented at a different apartment complex. Very disappointed.

I don't even know how this place stays open the way they run their office most of the time the doors locked you get no response when you call multiple Community managers who barely show up maintenance does a great job but the rest of the staff should be replaced

I couldn’t leave a new review so I’ll add to this one. Simone broken into my car last night and not one person on management has checked on me or put out an announcement to the community to be careful. Nothing. This may not have happened had they fixed the light right there but they’ve given excuses for over a year now. I can’t get filters changed. Requested cause it’s been more than 6 months since the last change. They haven’t done it. Last thing I want to mention is the other reviews. Everyone raved about Elizabeth in the office. Well management saw fit to get rid of her. As wonderful as she is and they got rid of her. So if you think they care about residents, think again!!! This is without a doubt the worst place I’ve ever lived. The only good thing about it is Elizabeth Nieves. She has been so supportive and helpful. Unfortunately, The Lory is looking to replace her! This is a picture of my drawer that they claimed to have fixed. Look at how poorly made it is. The entire place is like this. I pay a small fortune to live in a dump. No one made any attempt to remove the ice from the sidewalks and steps yesterday. Someone could get seriously hurt, but the Lory only cares about their money. Not it’s residents!!

These 5 stars are for Elizabeth Nieves. She made the application and move in process as smooth as possible for my mother. Elizabeth was always quick to reply to any question via phone, text or email and happily answered all of my mother's questions. In person, she was always cheerful and happy to see us. She gave us outstanding customer service. Thank you Elizabeth!

The Lory asks all residents and guests to not feed the geese. The reason being they have become very food aggressive and will chase people and try to steal their food. But feeding the turtles are welcome and they appreciate it!
As far as I know it is open.....
Yes, you can walk to Food Lion. There are no sidewalks and the traffic is busy so you would need to take care. Check out the free Orange County circular bus route. The route goes around Hillsborough and includes Walmart and makes a stop adjacent to The Lory.
