Way more houses than we thought, but it looked like a lot of them were trashed from the inside, real shame. Dogs? Wind? Chipmunks?

This is such a great hike for kids. I took my niece in the afternoon and it was a short hike, probably under 1.25 miles out and back. We took a break at a small creek. We saw some long leg spiders, a big bird (prob a hawk) and many chipmunks. The fairy houses all ranged in sizes and extravagance but it was nice to follow and look for the camouflaged houses for the entire hike trail. Take some bug spray we didn’t and got demolished. Along the trail there’s also many warnings about poison Ivy if you have smaller children please don’t let them wonder outside the designated areas.

More fairy and gnome houses than I expected, plenty of fun to look at on this heavily trafficked trail. The parking lot for this trail fills up quickly, but on weekends and holidays the lot next to the library provides plenty of free parking. The trail and surrounding area is very well worn so it's easy for hikers of all ages, but it suffers from a bit more trash than it should.

It's just a path in the woods, no gate, so you could technically visit whenever, but it's probably better to do it during daylight.
Google Map to Locust Grove Parking Lot. The lot is rectangular. One end is entrance, opposite side are other trail entrances. There fairy trail is actually off the middle of the lot.
Just the fairy trail part of it, like 20 mins, but proly a lil longer cause u wanna take time to look at em. But once u get by the water, the trail gets harder so I dnt think there's too many more houses past that point. Its really a great place tho especially if u have kids, they get a kick out of it. I have plenty of pix if u need any for reference or anything. Enjoy!
At the parking lot you can find restrooms. Its very shady it’s a very nice walk. Under the trees
In all honesty, there is nothing like this experience! These little handmade fairy homes are truly one of a kind! Not the mention the trail is full of beautiful endless scenery! At the end of the hike, there is a river where you can relax and unwind. You won't regret it!
There are little houses and buildings built into the trees, and sides of rocks and hidden. My son enjoys it. Its also just a nice hike that's not to difficult for little ones so it's a nice way to spend some time outside no matter what
Yes, are allowed
There are lot of poison ivy. We went 2 weeks ago. They were on the side of the trails too. Yes there are other trails as well.
Wouldn't recommend it...you wouldnt make it too far or deep in comfortably.
No
The wheelchair isn't a good idea. It's not paved and there are a few tree bridges which aren't going to be wide enough right off the bat. You might be able to see a little bit (.25 mile) before the first big bridge if you don't mind carrying a wheelchair over a small wet patch.
It's always open, but it's probably not a good idea to hike in the dark.
