Veterans Park and Playground (private for town residents)

Nice park! Playground, soccer and baseball fields, roller hockey rink, batting cage, and a hill for sledding! New dog park added! New playground has been completed as of 5/2021. As of 9/2022 the tennis courts have been demolished. Not sure if being replaced.

It is a very nice looking playground but as others have mentioned it’s private for residents only and there is no mention of the policy until you show up. It might have been an annoyance to pay a fee but there is no way of paying the usage fee on the weekends. The ranger who had to deliver this news was not rude but it was still a difficult situation as we were in the middle of a long road trip with kids and had counted on this stop to relieve some boredom and meet up with a good friend we had not seen in years. It was disappointing to encounter such exclusion for something like a playground.

We live 9min away from the park but we were not allowed to come in because we are not residents. This should have been mentioned on the Google maps, so that we didn’t spend time driving. Very frustrating!
