I prefer camping, not Glamping..so I like the proximity of hiking options Cherry Hill allows....I don't have to worry about loud stereos,Tvs or other commotion...just a quiet place to be near nature and enjoy the surroundings...lots of places to see and the staff couldn't be nicer!

I really wanted to love this campground. I read lots of reviews about how quiet it was. Unfortunately I guess I was there on an unusually loud weekend. So many kids (there seem to have been several large family groups)…which is great! But …

We had a great time camping here. There wasn’t any real check in/out procedure when we went, so we just set up at our rsvp site. The bathrooms aren’t too bad and they provide toilet paper but not soap. There are watering areas too. I would …

Decent little campground. Most sites were level and had enough area between next site to afford some privacy. Bathroom had flush toilets and hot showers which is really nice for Forestry Service cg. Sites 7 and 23 are marked okay for towable campers but they aren’t. 23 is much too steep uphill and 7 is badly eroded and washed out. No Verizon coverage in any part of cg.

What hikes are recommended that are close to Cherry Hill Recreation Area?

I was at Cherry Hill two weeks ago. The gate was closed. Therefore, this response is based on hikes near but not at Cherry Hill. Both require travel on dirt roads; in fact, one of the roads to one of the two hikes requires driving THROUGH a small creek. But I did this in my Prius so neither is a difficult drive. On a map app, look for Spoonauger and King Creek falls. The parking area for Spoonauger is on the side of the road just before one crosses into GA. The trailhead is north. It isn't far to the waterfall, but don't stop too near the base. Keep climbing to the end of the trail. The trailhead for King Creek Falls is on the other side of the road. Farther SW on 107 are roads that lead to the parking area for the trailhead to Licklog and Pigpen falls. (The final drive into the parking area looks wrong, but there is parking once you make the turn.) The trail is poorly marked. At the top of the hill from the parking area, turn left. At the next open area, bear right.
