If you have a big family and want to have fun, don’t go here. My family and I have been camping for 20 years and we have been to many different campgrounds and this has been the worst experience we have had. To start, we are a tenting family and they have very limited tent sites. And the tent sites that they do have, the majority of them don’t have the correct outlet. They never even offered us an adapter for the outlet until we went in and asked what we are supposed to do about the outlet. Second, this campground is what we like to call the fun police. We would not even be that loud and they would come to our campsite and yell at us to quite down. Never in my 20 years of camping have we had someone say that our fire is too big. If they had regular fire pit instead of raised iron ones, it wouldn’t be a problem. They also think they’re cops just by waiting in places around the campground and if you are going the slightest above the speed limit, they will follow you and yell at you for going to fast. Every time we had to unpack and pack up, they would come and yell at us for having too many cars at the campsite. If you have people that are visiting and you already have 4 adults on your campsite, they will also yell at you. Third, their advertising for swimming and fishing is a hoax. The river goes barley to your waist and has a strong current. We had to find other places in the area to go swimming. Their advertisement for mini golf is also a hoax as they are under staffed to keep it cleaned up. Will never recommend or come to this camp ground again

I have stayed at this campground since I was a little girl and it is always nothing short of an amazing experience every time. If you’re looking for “resort style” camping this isn’t for you or better be in an RV. This is camping. Period. I’m so upset to read other reviews that people don’t understand that when you’re camping you must provide yourself with all that you need for that site stay without having to rely on a “sink to wash your dishes in” or “firewood that’s too expensive”. Carol County has plenty of places to buy wood from, and most of their sites have water AND electricity hook ups so come prepared, city people. 😏 this is a privately, family owned campground and they put their lives into it. Always a great experience and I look forward to staying there EVERY YEAR! 😍

Booked a 5 night stay from 9/28-10/3. Good location. Enjoyed hiking, a day in Portland Maine. We were in site 66. We had to listen to the gun range every night which was very loud as well as a race track. Amenities were fair. The showers are awful and the shower close to us was closed due to Covid but the others were open. Guess they didn't have any Covid germs. Issues with the gate. There are 2 gates, but one is blocked. We had to wait several times to get in and out because the one working gate would be blocked with arrivals/departures and random vehicles. Left a day early.

Yes they do accept dogs. You must have an updated vaccine schedule showing they have had their rabies shots. Your vet can give you this info. They must be leashed at all times. They cannot be left alone outside the camper/tent.
Just call the office they can give you all those details. I do see trailers on the river sites.
Probably best to give them a call. They might be on vacation this week, though, like many folks.
