Pretty narrow trails but it’s not too crowded. Difficult to back country ski or snowshoe when the snow is really packed. Otherwise, great views and easy to get to the top of the mountain.

It's a beautiful and clean hike. Moderate to strenuous.. your reward would be to sit at 8,243 high and watch Donner lake and all the natural beauty you can enjoy. I couldn't help myself thinking GOP folks would want to open a McDonald's …

Great place to ski, snowboard and snowshoe. Parking and traffics can be rough depending on snowpack. Amazing panoramic views on clear days. IG: @adventureoveramenities_

Good trail to hike with young children?

If you're going south, it's a climb for a few miles with large steps and switchbacks. It would be difficult for kids less than 10 years unless they are particularly well conditioned. Going north from this location is fairly flat for a little over a mile and there is a cool historic section with boulders that can be climbed up to a reservoir there.
