8/11/22 Update It has been reported that Morton Williams will eventually close to make way for a special education school. No closure date has been set or announced yet. For now, the store is well stocked and seems business as usual. 4/10/22 Update Morton Williams has varied produce that looks good and fresh. I was looking for broccolini, dill and shitake mushrooms for a recipe. Found all the needed ingredients. Deli counter has friendly service and is very accomodating on how you want meats sliced. Lines are well staffed and never a wait each time I've been there. However, I cannot vouch for high traffic rush hours. 2/24 Update With product shortages and price hikes, Morton Williams remains a good neighborhood market. Good sale prices on weekly specials like meat, fish, and produce. The produce always looks fresh and has great variety. Check out the sale flyer online and organize your shopping list before you go. I rediscovered Morton Williams on Bleecker St. Food Emporium in USQ closed and I was looking for a neighborhood supermarket other than the small, highly priced Gristedes on Univeristy Place. MW has a diverse selection of fruits and vegetables that are fresh, nicely displayed. The deli staff could be more friendly and helpful. Morton Williams is clean, neatly organized and carries all the key national brands you will need. Well sized neighborhood supermarket with weekly sale items on products you want for the pantry and your fridge. Checkout was quick and friendly.
