Please note, this was pre-covid. The place has very cool decor and energy. I had read that it might be haunted. I mentioned it to the wife as we arrived (this was one of the few trips I had ever just planned myself and not let her have any say). We are fans of many paranormal based shows and she said it looked like a place they would do investigations in. Place was really clean, all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. As mentioned in other reviews, it is an old, restored (NOT updated and ruined) hotel. No TV, no swimming pool and gym. Etc. It is simple and simply awesome

A true piece of Alturas history. The nicest rooms in town and great bar! The staff was very helpful and nice. The renovations are great! This place also has the only Starbucks in town. I highly suggest staying the night here!
