Overbooked and understaffed!! Ridiculous.

It was busy, but the service was great. I broke my frames but they were covered and got new frames same day.

Stopped by Visionwork Plymouth this morning to have my broken frame repaired and Eva Q quickly replaced the frame and got me on my way to my appointment.

I went into Visionworks today (7/19/22) to buy glasses because the place where I get my eye exam doesn’t have a huge selection. I barely walked through the door before they exclaimed to me they have a mask policy. Which is totally fine and I complied. I was pretty much the only customer in the store for the entire half hour I was there, with the exception of another woman going right in to an appointment. A very nice girl eventually walked up to me and gave me a tray for picking out my glasses and let me know the cost of my lenses. I tried on several pairs over the course of my time there. About 20ish minutes into me being there, another woman came out of no where and said that I must keep my mask on the whole time. Whenever I tried a pair on, I’d lower my mask a bit so I could see what the frames look like on my face but only for a split second. She then told me I was welcome to take the glasses outside and try them on outside on the sidewalk in a mirror they have out there. (This week there is a heat advisory and it was 3pm in the blazing humid 95 degree sun so no thanks). They cared way more about their mask policy than me as a customer. If I’m paying hundreds for a pair of glasses, I’d expect better customer service. I’m not sure if it’s a corporate policy or just for that particular store (the eye place where I had my exam this week does not require masks), but in a massive air conditioned store when the town itself doesn’t have any mandates is a little wild to me. I’m perfectly willing to follow the mask policy but it seems silly when I’m by myself in a large store that I’d get spoken to about pulling my mask down to try on glasses I’m about to spend hundreds on. I tried to find a spot on their website where I could comment to corporate or the store manager but there really wasn’t an option to contact them other than an automated online chat. I’m annoyed because I expected to buy glasses today but felt uncomfortable after the encounters so I ended up leaving.
