This is a 24/7 woman’s shelter through DSS. It was a safe house. There’s always staff on site. The girls I was there with when I was there in 2015 bullied me but the place was fine. You can smoke out back tell they locked up at 11pm you can’t go out. That’s for yours and everyone else’s safety. I have to say, it being my first time being homeless, I was scared and it was a house with staff that kept me safe. They provide meals and you have to be out of the house from 9-4pm. Most people where working or looked for work.

All the staff here have been nothing but compassionate, supportive and caring since the moment I got here. Like any other facility, program or shelter there are a few simple rules that you are required to follow while staying here. They will give you those set of rules before coming to the house, which I would suggest reading so you know exactly what is required of you. I was homeless before coming here and I thank god for this place because it is a huge part of helping me rebuild my life. I've been in numerous programs (not proud of that but it's true) and was hesitant to come here but this is better than other programs that I have been in. I'm sure there are things to complain about but when I really think about it, it's a lot better than living on the streets. So any time I want to be ungrateful (because that's what it is ) I remember I have a safe place to come home to, a roof over my head, I can shower when I want, breakfast and dinner are served here and I have staff or other clients to talk to when I'm going through something. All things I wish I had just a few months ago. May not be everything I want but it's giving me everything I need and for that, I'm grateful for glory house.
