I am having a baby at the end of the year and wanted to get him baptized in the spring. Do the godparents have to be catholic too? Or can they just be baptized Christians?

When we choose godparents for our children we should consider them to be practical catholic because they will a good example to our children while practicing Eucharist and other sacraments and pray for them. It's easier that way because our kids won't be confused.
