I submitted an application the day after my cat of 14 years passed. I got a call from Helen and she asked a few questions which I answered to the best of my knowledge. She ask "did you bring your Pet to a Vet" (answered YES) and then ask "was he fully vaccinated" (answered YES) does not mean he got vaccinated by the Vet. Helen assumed that and when she spoke to Vet they told her no. She called me and accused me of lying. I said you asked "was" he vaccinated not "where" (at Petco cheaper then Vet). You see when you are incompetent and lack intelligence you ask the wrong question... you get the wrong answer... and then you make an erroneous assumption and believe your conclusion is true when it is not. She then said "you didn't call the Vet and tell them he died". Like I am some kind if devil. He just passed Monday its thursday and Why would I tell them. They did nothing wrong. Helen is an insensative control freak. Stay away! TO YOUR REPLY... you are a liar... I was approved by Hempsead and adopted

Long Beach Humane Society Kitty Cove does not give rabies shots. That must be administered by a vet. LBHS is affiliated with Long Island Cats Kittens Solution (LICKS) which offers low cost spay/neuter for $85. Rabies and Distemper vaccinations, if needed, are included.

Volunteer here! There are only cats in the building, but we sometimes have dogs in foster. Your best bet is to follow us on social media and contact us when we post dogs!
We can't answer that question for all shelters in NY. Long Beach Humane rescues kittens & cats from kill shelters and those who have been abandoned; generally our rescues are mixed-breeds.

I don't believe they're a regular shelter. I think they get enough donations to operate as a spay/neuter clinic with inoculations and microchipping. You'd need to find a 24/7 shelter, not clinic.
