The experience of buying glasses here was top notch. Professional and caring, my consultant, optician Haydee Ortiz, explored all lens options with me and the frame selection was better than other places I'd looked. Personalized attention to fitting ensured that a month later, I love my glasses. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Optical at Newsome Eye They don't make it easy or pleasant. The wait time was 2x as long as the appointment Just to pick up contact lenses. The lady at the Optical literally made me wait 45minutes just to give me my contact lenses paid and ready to pick up. she had enough time to just pass me the bag when her customer was trying on glasses but, No it was to hard for her. Until a nice guy Stefano came early from his lunch and literally took him 1 minute to pass me the bag of contacts lenses. After 45 minutes wait for a bag of contacts lenses paid and ready to pick up I was on my way. Avoid the Optical at Newsome Eye and find one that respects your time. (Not the first time I have an issue with the same lady at the optical )

A 5 star review just isn’t enough for Dr. Newsom and staff. You have so many choices and it’s hard to decide when it comes to your vision. They will not disappoint you. Jenn the office manager makes sure it’s a smooth process which makes for an office full of friendly happy people. Paula the financial advisor makes sure you understand everything before you leave. I highly recommend Newsom Eye if you want a professional extremely qualified team to take care of your vision!

How Does The Light Adjustable Lens Work?

Newsom Eye - Carrollwood | Sep 22, 2021
Newsom Eye - Carrollwood | Sep 22, 2021

The unique feature of the Light Adjustable Lens is that the shape and focusing characteristics can be changed after implantation in the eye using an office-based UV light source called a Light Delivery Device or LDD. The Light Adjustable Lens itself has special particles (called macromers), which are distributed throughout the lens. When ultraviolet (UV) light from the LDD is directed to a specific area of the lens, the particles in the path of the light connect with other particles (forming polymers). The remaining unconnected particles then move to the exposed area. This movement causes a highly predictable change in the curvature of the lens. The new shape of the lens will match the prescription you selected during your eye exam.
